Chester Dewayne Turner was born in Warren, Arkansas in 1966 and, following his parents’ separation, moved to Los Angeles with his mother at age five. Between 1987 and 1998, Turner violently assaulted and murdered 11 women, mostly around the rough area of Figueroa Street between Gage Avenue and 108th Street. His victims were mostly impoverished sex workers, women of colour, and crack-cocaine users, and this led to victim-blaming in the press. By only targeting marginalised women, Turner was able to continue his grisly killing spree undeterred. **This film is under non-exclusive license from Cineflix. All rights reserved.
